May 18, 2011

ADPC CEO, Tony Douglas, addressing delegates.

H.E Mohammed Hareb Al Yousef, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport, joined a special visit made by VIPs to Taweelah, where they were personally escorted around the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad) and Khalifa Port sites by ADPC CEO, Tony Douglas, and the Executive Vice President of Projects, Ashraf Alkhaznadar.

His Excellency – who shared the information gathering trip with staff from the Department of Transport, ADNOC and Etisalat, saw at first hand the progress being made on the two megaprojects, both of which will see their infrastructure completed in Q4, 2012.

Mr Douglas led the group to an observation platform on Khalifa Port from where delegates were afforded a close up view of the work being carried out on both projects, the first phases of which have been costed at AED 26.6 billion (USD 7.2 billion).

Mr Douglas commented: “I was impressed by the in-depth questions asked by our delegates today and was delighted at the deep interest and pride being shown in the project. We feel that we are all working together to fulfill the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030. It’s very satisfying to feel part of this dynamic movement, and we share the feeling with our colleagues”.
