Created by AD Ports Group in 2013, SAFEEN, is a subsidiary company responsible for delivering a full suite of marine and quayside services to all vessels that pass through Abu Dhabi’s seaports. SAFEEN has quickly become an industry benchmark in the provision of highly efficient, cost-effective marine services that are environmentally sustainable.

DRY BULK

Dry Bulk commodities such as iron ore, grain, bauxite, metals etc. are mainly handled at Khalifa Port and Zayed Port. In 2019 the approach to Khalifa Port was modified to make it first port in the Gulf equipped to accommodate fully-loaded Capesize vessels.

General Cargo

Huge investments have helped increase general cargo capacity and handling across our portfolio, most notably with the expansion of South Quay and Khalifa Port Logistics at Khalifa Port, which - combined with Zayed and Musaffah Ports - handle the majority of Abu Dhabi’s general cargo. In 2020, general cargo business grew 30% year-on breaking records with the highest ever volumes.
