Abu Dhabi Ports Company has just taken part in the high-profile “Desert Cleaning Campaign”, launched by the environmentalist and UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, HH Sheikh Abdulla bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Yousif Al Yaaqoubi, one of our Government Relations executives, joined three hundred volunteers including schoolchildren, staff from Emirates Aluminium, Abu Dhabi Municipality, the police and other officials in the drive, which saw rubbish collected and dozens of trees being planted. The campaign centred on the town of Samha, near ADPC’s megaproject site at Taweelah.
Yousif (wearing the grey kandoura) planted around thirty trees over the course of a morning, and said: “It’s important for our company to help the environment in the UAE, especially as regards our friends and neighbours near Taweelah.”
