ADPC Health, Safety and Environment Initiatives Recognised with Extended ISO 14001 & 18001 Certification
The ISO 14001 & 18001 certification was awarded to ADPC’s Ports Unit following a successful audit of the ADPC’s Ports Unit health, safety and environment management systems. Mr. Willem Moelker VP Area Marine Business Development Manager Middle East & Africa from Lloyd’s Register EMEA presented the certificate to Capt. Mohamed Al Shamisi, Vice President of Ports Unit ADPC.
Commenting on the occasion, Capt. Al Shamisi said:

ISO 14001:2004 specifies requirements for an environmental management system to enable an organization to develop and implement a policy and objectives which take into account legal requirements and other requirements to which the organization subscribes, and information about significant environmental aspects.
The OHSAS 18001 covers Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems in order to enable businesses to be confident they are doing all they can to protect their employees. It also allows the business to ensure they are operating according to their stated health and safety policies. ISO 18001 has a focus on continuous improvement which is particularly important for health and safety.
