Old & New Freeport Facility Upgrade

Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) and Abu Dhabi Terminals (ADT) are pleased to announce the facility upgrade to Mina Freeport and Municipality Harbour located in the heart of Abu Dhabi City.

These upgrades demonstrate that our customers’ cargo and security are our top priority. Both facilities will be secured 24 hours a day by security and operational personnel, with the aid of a new 3.7 km fence and security gate system which has been installed. The Freeport has a total of 49 berths covering a total quay length of 2,885m ranging in depth from 6m to 8m.

Announcing the recent upgrades, Abu Dhabi Terminals commented “Both locations are integral parts of our everyday lives, providing essential services to small and large businesses alike in the shipping industry. On any given day we have a wide diversity of vessels utilizing these ports from, tugs, offshore supply vessel, barges, dredges and local Dhows.

Commenting on these recent steps, Tony Douglas, CEO of ADPC said “Security and safety are always our top priority at ADPC and, working with our partners ADT, and as part of our ongoing initiatives to improve facilities we have recently completed the high security fencing of both the Freeport and Municipality Harbour. These recent upgrades are yet another step in optimizing customer care and quality assurance for all those who use our various port services.

One important change is that visitors will now need to carry a valid entry pass to access the new secured area; Agents, customers and crew will be able to obtain passes from the Abu Dhabi Terminals pass office located adjacent to the main entry gate.
