ADPC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments in which the authority will oversee the preparation of the two mosques currently under construction in Khalifa Port, the region’s first semi-automated port , which will be launched in September.
The presence of mosques in such locations, where thousands of people work, is of great importance as it enables them to worship freely. The memorandum includes providing the highest standards of comfort and safety and all mosque requirements, such as the Holy Quran and also offers publications issued by the authority. In addition, both mosques will be linked with the unified Adthan (call to prayer) of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which lies under the patronage and supervision of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments.

Abu Dhabi Ports Company has signed important agreements and memoranda of understanding with several bodies and institutions in both the public and private sector regarding Khalifa Port.
It will open in September, the first semi-automated port in the region, initially capable of handling 2.5 million TEUs and 12 million tons of cargo annually. It will, in time, be connected to Etihad Rail, offering freighting opportunities unique in the region.
