Local medical company to grow market presence through Khalifa Port

ABU DHABI PORTS SIGNS AED40 MILLION MUSATAHA AGREEMENT WITH BIN ALI MEDICAL SUPPLIES

Abu Dhabi Ports and Bin Ali Medical Supplies (BAMS), a first-class provider of high quality medical consumables in the UAE, have signed a Musataha Agreement.

The agreement will allow BAMS to set up a new branch of “Safe Care Medical Industries LLC” in Khalifa Industrial Zone (Kizad), Khalifa Port’s trade and logistics hub.

With an investment of AED 40 million, the new facility, which will be operational by April 2016, will be set up on a 12,000-sqm plot of land and produce high quality medical consumables, customised surgical packs and packing materials.

In addition to its branches in Al Ain, Dubai and another one in Abu Dhabi, “Safe Care Medical” will be BAMS’ fourth branch in the UAE, further strengthening the company’s market presence.

The strategic location next to Khalifa Port will significantly enhance BAMS’ supply chain efficiencies and help promote the “Safe Care” brand beyond UAE borders. At present, Khalifa Port is serving over 20 shipping lines and offers direct links to more than 50 destination ports around the globe.

“As the UAE has seen continuous population growth over the past years, the Medical and pharmaceutical industry has grown significantly and become a crucial part of the country’s economy. In Kizad, Bin Ali Medical Supplies will find all of the key criteria to cater for this growing market, from advanced infrastructure to excellent market access via road, air and Khalifa Port, ” said Capt. Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO, Abu Dhabi Ports.

“The new Safe Care Medical facility gives us the opportunity to build on our commitment to excellence. With its comprehensive intermodal transportation network, Khalifa Port’s industrial zone will provide us with the necessary framework to widen our product range and expand our service offerings to our growing customer base, both nationally and internationally,” adds Omar Ali, CEO of Bin Ali Medical Supplies.

Currently, BAMS is serving the UAE market and exporting to countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. While the MENA countries will be a main focus in BAMS’s export business moving forward, future expansion plans also include the European market with countries like the UK.

Established in 2002, BAMS has been making a name for itself as a leading provider of medical consumables in the UAE and beyond. The company is serving a wide range of high profile customers, including the UAE Ministry of Health (MOU), the UAE Armed Forces General Headquarter (GHQ), the Abu Dhabi Police and Ambulance, as well as Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), the Dubai Police and Dubai Health Authority.
