Kizad key to the UAE economic development

National Security Adviser and Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council HH Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan was briefed on the progress of work at Khalifa Port and the Khalifa Industrial Zone (Kizad) in Abu Dhabi.

With its enormous size and strategically planned approach, the 417 square kilometre Khalifa Industrial Zone has been projected as the hub for manufacturing, logistics and trade across a number of sectors.

Dr Sultan Al Jaber Chairman of Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) presented a detailed report to Sheikh Hazza in the presence of the heads of various local government departments in Abu Dhabi.

The phase one of the largest industrial zone in the region was launched earlier in November last year with an investment of AED 26.5 billion.

Zone A of Kizad is scheduled to become operational in the fourth quarter of 2012 just when the new Khalifa seaport opens to international business.
