HSBA Post-Graduates on study visit of Khalifa Port and Kizad

MASTERS STUDENTS FROM HAMBURG SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION VISIT ADPC’S FLAGSHIP MARITIME FACILITY

As part of research trip to the UAE, Masters Students from Hamburg School of Business Administration have visited Abu Dhabi Ports Company’s (ADPC) flagship maritime facility – Khalifa Port – as part of their executive MBA shipping programme.

After a tour of the two locations, the students met with senior staff from ADPC, the master developer of ports and industrial zones, to discuss topics such as: the advanced state-of-the-art infrastructure at the port; the technology and operational efficiencies that have been built in; and issues relating to Khalifa Ports’ business facilitation projects.

The students also met with representatives from the Kizad industrial zone, a wholly owned subsidiary of ADPC, and discussed how Kizad’s current 52 sq.km of segmented industrial clusters would be a catalyst for economic growth in the emirate. Kizad phase two will eventually expand to an area of 418sq.km, by 2030, and provide for approximately 15 per cent of non-oil GDP into Abu Dhabi.
