Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) has welcomed nearly thirty high ranking government officials on a tour of Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad), destined to become one of the biggest sites of its kind in the world.
ADPC CEO Tony Douglas led the delegation which toured the industrial zone and the adjacent Khalifa Port.
One of the delegation’s leading members, HE Razan Al Mubarak, Secretary General of the Environment Agency, Abu Dhabi, praised ADPC for its commitment to the environment. She commented: “The environmental protection breakwater, which helps preserve the Ras Ghanada reef, is a remarkable achievement and I’m glad that ADPC is taking many green steps to protect the environment. It’s been an instructive and very useful visit”.
Other delegates who attended the tour represented the Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company, the Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA), the Department of Civil Defense – AD Police and Urban Planning Council (UPC).
Mr Douglas spent several hours explaining about Kizad to the team. He commented: “It was very satisfying to be able to travel across Kizad and along Khalifa Port showing people the highlights of our progress. We had a memorable day.”
The first phases of Kizad and Khalifa Port will see their infrastructure completed in Q4, 2012.
