Abu Dhabi Ports Company has reached a new landmark at its flagship Khalifa Port by erecting on time and to plan four of its first batch of eight diesel-electric straddle carriers.
The SC624E “sprinters” from Terex-Noell have been assembled on site in a contract worth AED 84 million (USD 23 million) with the German firm. A total of twenty straddle carriers will be erected by the time phase 1 of the Taweelah megaproject (encompassing Khalifa Port and Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi) is launched in Q4 this year.
