ADPC supports World Professional Jiu Jitsu Championship

As part of its commitment towards supporting the local community, Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) has sponsored the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu Jitsu Championship, which is under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces.

The Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu Jitsu Championship (WPJJC) is organized by the UAE Jiu Jitsu Federation, and took place from 15-19 April at the FGB Areana at Zayed Sports City. The sport has become one of the keen interests of the Abu Dhabi Sheikhs and dignitaries and H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has attended the championship for the last five years, since its establishment in 2009.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) said: “ADPC wishes all of the UAE players the very best of luck in the competition. This exciting sport promotes physical fitness and strength of character and their participation encourages more of us to get involved in this great event.”

ADPC was represented at the event with a stand featuring a state-of-the-art 3-D simulator. Here, the visitors had the chance to experience how it feels to be a truck driver driving from the main gate of Khalifa Port to the container terminal. The ten minute – drive gave visitors the opportunity to see the port’s facilities and cutting edge equipment, including the world’s largest ship-to-shore (STS) quay cranes.
