ADPC supports Azzam with ‘Wall of Glory’ at Volvo Ocean Race

Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) is supporting the Abu Dhabi’s racing team at the Destination Village, as part of the Volvo Ocean Race stopover Abu Dhabi.

ADPC’s stand features a “Wall of Glory” where visitors can post their best wishes for the racing team, congratulating them on their progress so far and urging them onto success in the rest of the race. The most appealing posts will be shared on ADPC’s facebook, twitter and Instagram social media channels.

ADPC’s multimedia exhibition stand will also feature a model of Zayed Port’s new cruise terminal building and a short experiential film demonstrating the look and feel of Abu Dhabi’s upcoming new cruise facilities.

Last but not least, visitors to the stand will have the chance to enter a competition and win a 1,000-USD voucher for a first-class cruise trip. The voucher is a gift from Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., the world’s second-largest cruise line operator, which recently announced Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Port as the cruise line operator’s new homeport for its ship Celebrity Constellation, starting with the 2016/2017 season.

“The Volvo Ocean Race Abu Dhabi is a great maritime event that brings people of all ages and all nationalities together. Abu Dhabi has a long and varied maritime history, this event offers an opportunity to show just how important the maritime sector is to all of us today and in the future, for leisure, entertainment and of course commerce”, says Noura Al Dhaheri, ADPC’s cruise terminal manager.

The Volvo Ocean Race stopover is one of the greatest maritime spectacles in the UAE, with more than 135 entertainment and water sports activities and 175,000 expected visitors. The event runs from 12 December until 3 January, at the Destination Village opposite Marina Mall.
