As part of its continuous commitment to support industry related events, Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) presented delegates of the 5th Global Logistics & SCM Strategy Summit, held in Dubai, with an opportunity to visit both the Taweelah Visitor Centre and the Khalifa Port Island in a tour specifically designed to meet their respective interests. The 54-strong delegation learned about the Khalifa Port project, opening in September.

In addition, ADPC participated in a presentation entitled “The Changing Role of the Port Authority Meeting the Demands of the Business Environment” where Lawrie Pattison, Ports’ Business Development Manager at ADPC, shared industry insights and knowledge with experts and leaders from different sectors across the industry including Logistics, Port Authority, and Shipping Lines.

Commenting on the event, Capt. Mohamed Al Shamisi, Executive Vice President of Ports Unit at ADPC, stated:

“ADPC is actively being engaged with industry related events that allows us to showcase our state of the art projects. Khalifa Port is on schedule to open in the last quarter of this year and we look forward to the opening which will crown all of our efforts to make this project a huge success in the UAE and the region.”

The 5th Global Logistics and SCM Strategy Summit was organized by the Supply Chain and Logistics Group (SCLG) of Middle East, a non-profit organisation established to promote the cause of supply chain and logistics. This group brings an opportunity for education, training, seminar and networking among like-minded professionals and corporations on global basis.

The group is now operating with the legal backing of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is founded with the help of senior management professionals representing a variety of industries on the supply chain.
