ADPC Marine Services celebrates 1st birthday

MORE THAN 5,000 TUG BOAT AND 4,000 PILOTAGE OPERATIONS WITHOUT LTI IN ABU DHABI WATERWAYS

Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) is celebrating the 1st birthday of its subsidiary ADPC Marine Services.

Launched a year ago, ADPC Marine Services is already well known for its comprehensive and on-spot marine services provided to all vessels using Abu Dhabi waterways.

The new company employs over 160 highly skilled certified and extensively trained professionals including a team of 19 experienced pilots who provide a 24 hour pilotage service seven days a week across the emirate.

ADPC Marine Services has a fleet of eight tug boats, capable of maneuvering every kind of vessel visiting the ADPC’s ports, as well as four pilot boats, six speedboats and one buoy maintenance boat.

The company has placed quality and safety as its top priority and has successfully executed more than 5,000 tug boat and 4,000 pilotage and pilot boat operations in 2013, achieving 387,000 man-hours across all of its service areas, with no Lost Time Incident (LTI) being reported.

Commenting on the 1st year of operations, Hamad Al Maghrabi, General Manager, ADPC Marine Services, said:

Within its first year of operations, ADPC Marine Services has secured third party charters and provided a wide range of marine services, including pilotage, harbor towage, mooring and allied services, and aids to navigation and vessel traffic services, to high profile national and international clients.
