Honoured stakeholders from Al Rahba near Taweelah took pride of place as ADPC opened up the Mina Road on Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad) to traffic.
“Without the constant help and encouragement of our colleagues and stakeholders across many government agencies, it simply would not have been possible to begin commercial operations in Kizad and Khalifa Port”, commented Jurjen Groen, Industrial Zones’ Project Manager, ADPC.
It was with considerable pride that ADPC invited Captain Alsugaeir Saeed Alomemi, Director of Community Policing, Al Rahba Police Station to the ceremonial ribbon cutting to mark the opening of the Mina Road, which joins the Sheikh Khalifa Industrial Road. Captain Alomemi attended with colleagues and a special celebration cake was presented by ADPC.
ADPC is launching a major new campaign to liaise with the local communities around Taweelah, underlining the many economic benefits that they will derive from the commencement of operations at Khalifa Port and Kizad, which will grow into one of the world’s largest industrial zones. More than 100,000 jobs, for example, are expected to be created by the megaproject by 2030.
Waseem Freij, Engineering Manager, ADPC Projects’ Unit, said at the ceremony: “We are very much encouraged by the support and interest shown by our local communities as we build the megaproject and we are excited by our new outreach campaign. Al Rahba police have been very supportive and we thank them for their help.”
