ADPC CEO TONY DOUGLAS OPENS MEED CONFERENCE.
ADPC CEO Tony Douglas opened Meed’s Ports and Shipping 2011 Conference, held in Abu Dhabi over two days in late January. Mr Douglas addressed the audience with the keynote speech : “Project specific case study: Khalifa Port”. The thirty minute presentation centred on the commercial and logistical case for Khalifa Port, the first phase of which opens in Q4, 2012. The conference was attended by major players in the regional and international ports, shipping and related maritime services industry. Mr Douglas later took part in a key panel discussion with experts from Royal Haskoning and URS/Scott Wilson entitled “What are the key challenges being faced by owners, contractors and operators, and how can they be overcome ?” Mr Douglas commented : “This was a very useful exercise and a chance to compare notes with industry colleagues, so that we all can co-operate whenever possible and heads towards the same goals. I was delighted with the interest shown in Khalifa Port.”
