ADPC and Abu Dhabi Customs sign strategic partnership

ABU DHABI CUSTOMS TO BE ALLOCATED PLOT AT KIZAD FOR SPEEDIER PROCESSING AND ENHANCEMENT OF MOVEMENT OF GOODS

Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC), a master developer and regulator of ports and industrial zones in Abu Dhabi, has announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with Abu Dhabi Customs to simplify procedures at Khalifa Port and Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad).

Abu Dhabi customs will inform its entire ports staff about the signing of the new agreement, that it is effective immediately and to extend all necessary support to ADPC and Kizad’s operations. The agreement will also lay the foundation for future operations for the import and export of goods and movement of final products in and out of Khalifa Port and Kizad – a wholly owned subsidiary of ADPC – as well as across the UAE.

As part of the partnership agreement, a plot of land has been allocated for a permanent documentation service center in Kizad, close to Khalifa Port. The new center will offer customers a dedicated resource for efficient and quicker processing of all import/export paperwork.

At the signing ceremony, Khaled Salmeen CEO and MD of Kizad said: “ADPC has a long history of working with Abu Dhabi customs, the relationship has proved successful in every respect, with both organisations understanding the importance of working together, hand in hand, to facilitate trade to and from the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

“By working together to promote the smooth movement of goods, we are delivering on what we promised our investors in terms of the ‘ease of doing business’ element that comes with being located in Kizad.

H.E. Saeed Ahmad Al Muhairi, General Manager – Abu Dhabi Customs, said: “Working with ADPC over the years has developed into a mutual understanding of the various business requirements needed.

We operate with efficiency and our mission, while maintaining adequate procedures, is to enhance the experience of Abu Dhabi investors.

For both Abu Dhabi Customs and ADPC, it is of the utmost importance to provide customers with efficient delivery of services and promote the Emirate’s ‘ease of doing business’ motto.

The strategic partnership agreement signed by ADPC and Abu Dhabi Customs is just one aspect of improving business support to customers with the two organisations pledging a road map that will ensure greater coordination moving forward.
