Each Government entity was asked to develop and launch its own internal excellence award scheme in line with the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance (ADAEP) to encourage and demonstrate best practice and the highest level of excellence in their work performance.
Abu Dhabi Port’s operating entities, projects/teams and 24 shortlisted individual employees were competing in the categories “Units and Divisions”, “Projects” and “Individuals” respectively.
The entries have all been evaluated, graded and the winners selected by a certified and independent assessment team made up of members of the Dubai Police.
The assessment took place over several weeks and was based on different application documents, and in-depth interviews which focused on many aspects including leadership, strategy, project management, work planning and organisation, customer service and creativity.
“Abu Dhabi Ports employees’ participation and engagement in our first MAFNOOD excellence award scheme has been overwhelming. We are extremely pleased with the high number of submissions and are very excited about the outcome”, says Capt. Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO, Abu Dhabi Ports.
“We chose Dubai Police as our partner because of its world-class assessment record and independent status. We would like to thank the judging panel for their support, feedback and skilled guidance in our continual drive for excellence across all aspects of our business,” Al Shamisi adds.
MAFNOOD is the Arabic word for “distinguished” and underlines the organisation’s ongoing commitment to be a distinguished service provider across all of its business units.
