During its participation at the 36th GITEX Tech week, entitled “Re-Imagining Realities”, Abu Dhabi Ports will shed light on the first purpose-built PCS in the UAE – Maqta Gateway, which will offer shipping lines, shipping agents, customs agents, terminal operators and other government entities a single point-of-access and real-time information across a wide range of services. Maqta Gateway was designed in line with international standards, and can be accessed via any online device offering its users an optimal experience through improved business processes and greater transparency.
Dr. Noura Ahmed Al Dhaheri, General Manager of Maqta Gateway, said: “Maqta Gateway is an instrumental tool for the development of maritime trade in the Emirate having been the first port community system in UAE that provides a single online window for Abu Dhabi trade customers to easily access and share information about their operations and complete procedures.”
“The first stage of Maqta Gateway was successfully completed with the introduction of the Container Shipping Management System at Khalifa Port in 2015. The second stage was successfully completed by introducing the Vessel Management System in all commercial ports in Abu Dhabi this year. At GITEX, we will share the system’s latest developments and where it is going next. We are excited about the coming inauguration and are preparing for the next development in the near future,” she added.
Services available on Maqta Gateway at this stage include: vessel schedules, vessel and cargo tracking, vessel registration, vessel call and service requests, and other operational information and services that will help users reduce paperwork and processing time.
