ADPC, DP World and Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), the government authority charged with regulating, coordinating and supervising all aspects of the maritime sector in Dubai, have announced the completion of a Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS) between the two Emirates that will help ensure the safe movement of vessels between common ports.
Jointly established by ADPC and DP World (DPW), the TSS is a traffic-management route that regulates traffic within sea lanes, in line with the international best practices of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
ADPC and DP World will intensify joint efforts to ensure the smooth movement of vessels between Abu Dhabi and Dubai ports.
Captain Mohamed Al Shamisi (second left), Executive Vice President, Ports’ Unit, ADPC, and also the Chairman, Abu Dhabi Terminals, welcomed the new initiative, saying “it involves the support of key government and private sector institutions to ensure successful implementation. Moreover, we will continue to build on our strategic alliances with DP World and Dubai Maritime City Authority and other key stakeholders of the maritime sector to introduce more positive reforms and reinforce the UAE’s growing reputation in the maritime sector.”
