28-Member Team Represents ADPC at Inaugural Abu Dhabi Corporate Games

ADPC has deployed a 28-member team for the inaugural Abu Dhabi Corporate Games 2012, which opened yesterday and will run until 24th November under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The games opened with much fanfare yesterday evening. Led by Salem Rasljanin, the ADPC squad participated in the Grand Parade of Athletes that marched into the Zayed Stadium as part of the opening ceremony. A key highlight of ADPC’s participation will be witnessed at the football and cricket matches that have been earmarked for 22 November. The team will also take on the challenge in games such as table tennis, shooting and golf.

Organized for the last 24 years in 53 cities across 25 countries in five continents, Corporate Games is the world’s largest multi-sports festival for businesses and organizations. The Abu Dhabi Corporate Games mark the sporting extravaganza’s foray into the UAE. While the games’ agenda includes a series of events at different venues in Abu Dhabi, the Zayed Sports City has taken centre-stage as the main arena.

The Abu Dhabi Corporate Games features 17 sporting events, of which three are exclusively female-only competitions.

ADPC team comprises players from a mix of countries including the UAE, Pakistan, India, New Zealand, Australia, Serbia, Libya, Egypt, Syria, and Yemen. The participants’ age ranges between 25 and 61 years.

The ADPC team is set to clash with some of the UAE’s leading corporate names such as Etihad, Mubadala, GHC, CNBC Arabia, Europcar, Standard Chartered, Spinneys, Abu Dhabi Airport Services, Bayt.com, Al Bawardi Enterprises, Al Fahim Group and Abu Dhabi Finance.
