AD Ports Group has recently entered a 35-year concession agreement with French shipping and logistics giant, CMA CGM Group. The joint venture will secure significant investment from both parties, totalling around AED 570 million (USD 154 million), and prepares the way for a new container terminal to be located at Khalifa Port.

The terminal will be managed by CMA Terminals Khalifa Port, a joint venture between AD Ports Group and CMA Terminals, and is expected to open in 2025 with an initial capacity of 1.8 million TEU.

Strategic Location

Located at Khalifa Port, halfway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, CMA Terminals Khalifa Port is perfectly positioned to facilitate easy access to local roads and highways. With rail transport being a vital driver for growth in the vehicle supply chain, the terminal will take advantage of Khalifa Port being the first port in the UAE to link up to the new Etihad Rail network.
