Students from Panamerican University visit Khalifa Port
Abu Dhabi, UAE: Officials from Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) welcomed a group of 46 students from the Dubai Panamerican University (Universidad Panamericana) on 18 December.
The visit was part of a project to show the students Abu Dhabi’s growing maritime industry and state-of-the-art port infrastructure.
The group visited the Terminal Operation Building (TOB) at Khalifa Port, ADPC’s flagship deep-water port. Here, they had the chance to see the port’s cutting edge semi-automated container terminal – the first in the GCC region.
In addition, the students were given a tour of the Kizad visitor centre, where they were given insights into Khalifa Port’s adjacent Kizad trade and logistics zone. Both, Khalifa Port and Kizad, are designed to facilitate the non-oil and –gas sector trade and are cornerstones of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.
