Sixteen primary school students, aged between six and twelve years old, from the German International School in Abu Dhabi have been learning more about the activities that take place and the ships that call at Abu Dhabi Port Company’s (ADPC) Zayed Port.
The students, the head of primary school and a teacher visited the port, where the group was given a tour through the port’s facilities, including the cruise terminal and the RORO (roll-on and roll-off cargo, such as cars) landing stage.
The students also had the opportunity to see some of the numerous vessels arriving and departing, while learning about a typical working day at a busy commercial port.
The visit was part of a program which the school regularly organizes to give students practical insights into various industries. This time, the title of the school program was “Water in and around Abu Dhabi”, and the focus was on the shipping industry and its history.
