KSB has over 160 industrial service facilities across the globe; however, its new Kizad-based facility is set to be the largest in the GCC (130,000sq.ft) and one of KSB’s biggest service centers worldwide.
In a statement from KSB summarizing the reasons why they chose Kizad as their future base over other industrial zones, their company spokesperson confirmed that KSB are clearly looking to expand and build on the success they have had in the UAE thus far. Proximity to world class infrastructure and clients drove the decision-making process.
Eng. Raymond Hiel, General Manager KSB Service Centre ME stated that:
“In addition to having direct access to a deep-water commercial port and the only semi-automated container facility in the region, at Khalifa Port, being based at Kizad will offer KSB proximity to some of its key customers in the region, including EMAL and the Taweelah Power Station.
Khaled Salmeen, CEO and Managing Director of Kizad, commenting on the issuing of KSB’s building permit and ground-breaking ceremony, said:
“Today is a key milestone in Kizad’s progress. We are delighted to be sharing this moment with KSB and look forward to supporting them in their future expansion plans in the UAE. It is another huge step in the right direction for both Kizad and ADPC to share this with one of the world’s leading industrial component manufacturers. With over a 2 billion Euro of annual turnover, KSB’s choice to locate their largest ever service centre at Kizad, is proof that all the hard work we have done to offer the best infrastructure and amenities to our tenants is paying off; and is recognized by international companies as a genuine advantage for growing their businesses,” added Salmeen.
At the ground breaking ceremony Raymond Hiel of KSB Service LLC added that:
“The choice to locate at Kizad means we have secured an excellent base for the growth of our regional operations. The location also allows us to facilitate our global expansion plans and we are satisfied that the facilities and services we have received from Kizad provide an excellent foundation for us to complete our expansion plans by the fourth quarter of 2013.”
KSB bring in materials including specialist pumps and valves from Germany and plan to use Khalifa Port as their main import hub as a result of the convenient proximity to Kizad.
