Over the next two days, Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi, Kizad, will be participating in the 17th Arab-German Business Forum taking place in Berlin, Germany. Hosted by the Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this annual forum brings together high level political, economic and industry delegations from across Germany and the Arab world.
The forum is held under the patronage of the German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, H.E. Sigmar Gabriel and organized in cooperation with the Association of German Chambers of Commerce (DIHK) and the General Union of Arab Chambers of Commerce.
Alexander Haex, VP Business Development, Kizad, will be speaking at the forum as well as contributing to a panel discussion entitled ‘Sustainable Developments: Industry & Free Zones’.
The development of Arab-German economic and trade relations is crucial for Kizad’s operations.
According to the German Federal Foreign Office, the UAE is one of Germany’s principal trade partners with overall trade worth approximately AED 53.7bn (EUR 10.74bn) in 2013. German exports to UAE grew by 2 percent in 2013 ~AED49.66bn (EUR 9.94bn) and German imports from UAE increased by around 2.5 percent ~AED0.39bn (EUR0.8bn).
The UAE is home to over 1,000 German businesses and approximately 12,000 German nationals contributing significantly to the increasing trade volume exchange and the development of cultural, medicinal and educational ties between the two countries.
