Officials from Abu Dhabi Ports Company ( ADPC) are currently showcasing Khalifa Port and Kizad at Gulfood Manufacturing, the biggest food and beverage process industry event for the Middle East, Africa and Indian Sub-Continent.
The event which is taking place from 9 – 11 November at the Dubai World Trade Centre is featuring more than 1,000 suppliers from around the globe who deliver world-class food and beverage processing solutions.
ADPC is represented at the event with an exhibition stand (Concourse 1; CC 2-1) showcasing Khalifa Port and the Kizad as a prime example of supply chain efficiency. On all three days, attendees are invited to visit the stand, network and discuss latest trends, especially in the fields of logistics, food processing and packaging.
At present, nine food industry investors have chosen to invest in Kizad, covering sectors such as food processing, packaging, as well as food and beverage logistics. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, excellent market access and a comprehensive intermodal logistics network, Khalifa Port and Kizad offer ideal conditions for investors in the food industry sector which is expected to grow significantly in the years to come.
With an annual growth rate of 3.2%, the population of the GCC region is anticipated to reach more than 50 million by 2017. Against this backdrop, the regional food industry, especially the vibrant food sector in the UAE, promises massive growth in the near future. Forecasts indicate that food imports to the GCC region will reach AED 194 billion in 2020.
