Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) welcomed a delegation from the Port of Aqaba in Jordan, for a visit to Khalifa Port on 2 April, 2014.
ADPC extended the invitation on hearing that the senior port officials were attending an industry conference in the emirate. The delegation visited the Terminal Operations Building where they could watch the full extent of the port operations moving the containers from ship to crane, to container stack and onto collecting lorries. They met with senior representatives from Abu Dhabi Ports Company, and were keen to learn more about operational processes and the supporting technology, all of which ensures a 15 minute turnaround for trucks entering the port, collecting containers and exiting again.
The visitors also met ADPC Marine Services senior personnel and examined some of the company’s tugs. ADPC Marine Services recently celebrated its first full year of operations and provides a range of marine and ancillary services to vessels visiting any ADPC port in the emirate.
