As part of the ongoing and intensive “Go-Live” testing of facilities at the ultra-modern Khalifa Port, the MV Dubai Fortune berthed alongside the quay of the semi-automated container terminal to unload 187 TEU containers and to load 20 TEUs.
The operation involved ADPC’s giant STS (Ship-to-Shore) cranes at the quayside (amongst the largest ones in the world), ASCs (Automated Stacking Cranes) and straddle carriers.
The MV Dubai Fortune was welcomed by Capt Ashraf Mabrouk (left), Khalifa Port’s Harbour Master, who gave a vote of thanks and handed a commemorative plaque to the master of the MV Dubai Fortune, Capt. Konstantin Trofimov.
Khalifa Port’s new container terminal will open for business in Q4 this year.
