Incheon Port Authority pay visit to Khalifa Port and Kizad

ADPC HAVE WELCOMED A DELEGATION FROM INCHEON PORT AUTHORITY AND THE INTERNATIONAL CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION OF KOREA (ICAK) TO TAWEELAH

Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC), the master developer of ports and industrial zones, officials have welcomed a delegation from Incheon Port Authority and the International Contractors Association of Korea (ICAK) to Taweelah, with a tour of the new deep-water Khalifa Port and the hi-tech visitor centre detailing the Kizad industrial zone among the highlights, for the visitors.

According to Containerisation International, the Port of Incheon is currently ranked 58 in the list of world’s busiest container terminals, currently handling around 2.4mn TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent containers) in 2012; coincidentally, a similar handling capacity to Khalifa Port’s initial 2.5mn TEU.

Meeting on an official basis for the first time, Incheon Port Authority (IPA) and ADPC and Kizad officials discussed opportunities to enhance co-operation as fellow ports and harbour operators and managers. In addition, the possibility of defining working relationships for knowledge-share and transfer – on both technology and training – was a key discussion point on the agenda.
