ADPC wins Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence for Khalifa Port
ADPC was presented with the “Strategic Transformation Project / Team” by His Highness Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the Khalifa Port Project at a special award ceremony held at ADNEC on the evening of Monday, November 18, 2013.
The Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance (ADAEP) is an award which seeks to spread and promote a culture of excellence in the Government of Abu Dhabi.
Entries must outline the implementation of a project, the monitoring of results and performance, and a practical framework for evaluation and results. The plan must demonstrate the link between method and results, cause and effect, as well as showing the importance of linking feedback into project management and results.
These awards are only presented every three years and this year saw 751 submissions spread over the 24 award categories (12 for individuals and 12 for entities). Through a rigorous assessment process which involved independent overseas assessment teams spending days interviewing personnel and validating data through audits, ADPC was short-listed in the Strategic Transformation Project / Team along with Department of Transport and Etihad Airways.
Acting CEO Mohamed Al Shamisi who received the award on ADPC’s behalf said: “This is an enormous honour for everyone in ADPC and a fantastic achievement for a company as young as ADPC. Project delivery, especially one of the scale and complexity of Khalifa Port, relies on a high-performing team in which every single member fulfils their role.
“This award recognises the efforts that everyone at ADPC has individually and collectively, put in over the last few years, in order to successfully deliver this world class piece of infrastructure that will continue to be the cornerstone of the Abu Dhabi 2030 plan for years to come.”
