ADPC senior members of staff recently met with delegates from the embassy of the Dominican Republic at Khalifa Port to further strengthen the business bonds between the two parties, while discussing global developments in the maritime logistics sector.
Abdulkareem Al Masabi, VP-Operations, ADPC, and Gary Lemke, EVP-Ports, ADPC, welcomed the delegation which comprised of Fernando Fernandez, Director General of the Customs Dominican Republic, and Heriberto Minaya, Deputy Director of Technology and Communications for Customs Directorate General, Dominican Republic.
During their visit, the guests were given a tour through the state-of-the-art facilities at Khalifa Port, including the Terminal Operation Building. Here, they were shown displays of historic local seafaring equipment, and a projection of Khalifa Port’s development stages.
The Dominican Republic is currently expanding its logistics infrastructure and has started construction of the country’s first logistics centre, the “Caucedo Logistics Center”, located between Port Caucedo and Las Americas International Airport.
