Colleagues at Abu Dhabi Ports Company have joined in the celebrations marking the foundation of the United Arab Emirates forty years ago.
Staff gathered in front of the company’s headquarters in the city to join in a range of cultural Emirati activities. The area was transformed with bedouin tents in which traditional Emirati food and drinks were served. Flags, posters and balloons were placed all around the building.
Musicians joined traditional dancers, and henna artists, and ADPC staff members watched displays of falconry. Four hundred balloons, each signed by a staff member, were released.
At the site of the company’s megaproject in Taweelah, where Khalifa Port and Kizad (Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi) are under construction, staff and contractors took part in similar cultural and sporting activities.
A mini-marathon was run on the site of Khalifa Port, and a volleyball competition contested.
