ADPC staff and families celebrate UAE National Day

ADPC celebrated the 41st National Day of the United Arab Emirates, at the site office in Taweelah area in Abu Dhabi, attended by many staff and their families.

This year’s celebration is exceptional to the ADPC family in particular and whole UAE as it coincides with the preparations of the official inauguration of Khalifa Port that will take place in December. Khalifa Port is one of the important national and historical achievements that have been made since the establishment of the Federation.

“National Day holds a special meaning and significance to us as it brings the spirit of the union, the reason behind our achievements, and the 41st National Day will witness the inauguration of one of the most outstanding achievements which is Khalifa Port,” commented Tawfeeq Yousuf Al Mubarak, EVP, strategy and corporate support, ADPC.

As part of the celebration program, ADPC embraced the “Union Tree” initiative launched by UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Tony Douglas, CEO, ADPC, accompanied by a number of executives and employees in the company, planted a Ghaf tree in the site office’s garden. Emirati staff praised this initiative which “brought back valuable meaning for UAE people and reflected love and their strong belonging to the UAE.”

The festivities included different activities related to UAE’s rich heritage and culture which started with a Harbiya band performance of traditional dances along with traditional and national songs. The attendees enjoyed other activities such as display of traditional handicrafts, games, camel and horse rides, falcons, henna and live cooking of famous local dishes. The celebration also held competitions including a quiz related to the UAE’s history which added to a great festive atmosphere and excitement among ADPC employees and their families.
