ADPC ICT Services wins major regional IT award
ARABIAN COMPUTER NEWS RECOGNISES ADPC ICT SERVICES AS “IT DEPARTMENT OF THE YEAR”
Abu Dhabi Ports Company’s (ADPC) ICT Services has won the Arabian Computer News Arab Technology Award “IT Department of the Year 2013”, one of the most established and recognized awards of its kind in the Middle East.
Out of nine short-listed candidates from the UAE and Gulf region in the ICT category, ADPC ICT Services successfully convinced the jury with its state-of-the-art infrastructure and outstanding product and service portfolio. The award is the eighth won by ADPC ICT Services and the third to be awarded this year.
More than 300 leading industry professionals attended the award ceremony which took place at the JW Marriot Marquis Hotel in Dubai and was part of a gala dinner held in parallel to GITEX Technology Week.
Over a short period of time, ADPC ICT Services has developed from a corporate support service entity to a 100-per-cent profit-generating business unit that is self-sufficient and a crucial part of ADPC’s organizational structure.
Under the ADPC umbrella, the ICT Services department has managed to expand its portfolio to all of the ports in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to private companies operating in Khalifa Port and Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad), and to organizations operating across the entire UAE and even beyond the country’s borders.
Saif Al Ketbi, Vice President of ADPC ICT Services, accepted the award on behalf of his team and said:

Now in their ninth year, the Arabian Computer News Arab Technology Awards recognize outstanding work that has been carried out in the Middle East enterprise market over the past twelve months.
This year’s competition included 19 different categories with contestants from industries such as Banking and Finance, Hospitality and Tourism, Transport and Aviation as well as a broad spectrum of enterprises from the ICT sector.
