Abu Dhabi Ports Company announced today a knowledge sharing partnership agreement with the Virginia Port Authority(VPA), USA.
A Memorandum of Understanding between ADPC and Virginia Port Authority was announced between the two organizations at the World Ports and Trade Summit (WPTS) being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) this week.
The two-year agreement will see both companies co-operating on marketing activities, market research, exchange of information, green issues, modernization details and cross training. Working parties from both companies will also visit each other’s sites periodically to solidify the partnership.
Mr. Tawfeeq Al Mubarak, Executive Vice President of Ports, ADPC, commented, “This is a great step forward for Abu Dhabi and the Middle East, and we look forward to sharing knowledge and extending our friendship and professional relationship with one of the most important ports on the American East Coast.”
Russell Held, Deputy Executive Director-Development, VPA stated: “Working closely with ADPC in the near future will prove to be a very mutually beneficial relationship. We have already begun to share information and are eager in both welcoming ADPC staff and in sending our own people to learn more about the plans behind the commercial port operations in the emirate, including the Khalifa Port which is adjacent to Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi, (Kizad).”
