Abu Dhabi Ports, the master developer, operator and manager of commercial and community ports within the emirate of Abu Dhabi, as well as Fujairah Terminals and the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD), participated in the third edition of the Maritime Academic Conference (MARACAD) held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammad Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Cabinet Member and Minister of Infrastructure Development from 30-31 October in Dubai.
A delegation team from Abu Dhabi Ports attended the conference to promote their Maritime Training Centre as well as exchange industry insights with maritime experts from other GCC countries.
Commenting on their participation, Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports stated that: “We are happy to sponsor the Maritime Academic Conference (MARACAD), which is the first of its kind in the region. Our presence at the event is aimed at showcasing our training and development efforts in the maritime sector. We have continued to encourage knowledge exchange through our internationally accredited training centre, Abu Dhabi Ports Maritime Centre, which facilitated the sharing of best practice in maritime to more than 408 trainees so far.
Maritime Training Centre have trained many seafarers from 67 companies, including Abu Dhabi National Tanker Company (ADNATCO), National Gas Shipping Company (NGSCO), Abu Dhabi Petroleum Ports Operating Company (IRSHAD), ESNAAD, GAC Marine among many more.
The center provides exclusive maritime courses in many fields including internationally approved Lighthouse Association Authority courses.
