The annual event aims to reinforce Abu Dhabi Ports’ relationship with its existing customers and thank them for their valued business, as well as promote Abu Dhabi Ports’ business units and services. 90 players from different companies participated in the annual event that included stakeholders, partners and customers.
Commenting on the event, Abdulkareem Al Masabi, Executive Vice President for Abu Dhabi Ports, said: “It is vital that we reward our customers and partners on a regular basis. Blending it with an outdoor sporting event like Golf, where we can get healthy competition going between the teams, makes it all the more rewarding. It also serves as a great way to get customer feedback on the services we run and how we can enhance them, helping us provide an even better offering to our customer base, in an informal environment”.
The Annual Abu Dhabi Ports Golf Tournament also provided a complete golf day through clinics, tournaments, and coaching to their customers. The Golf Skills Clinic and the Pro Player workshop were two of the main attractions of the event. British professional golfer and winner of the European Tour, Steve Webster, was also on hand to train and advise players on how to develop their skills.
The Skills Clinic, run for the second time, was headed by a number of keen and seasoned golf coaches, offered non-golfers a three-hour ‘Group Lesson’ complete with training tips and golf orientation. The clinic proved to be a resounding success with high numbers attending.
The competition format for this year’s tournament was ‘Texas Scramble,’ a combination of strategy, camaraderie and skill, where teams comprised of 3 to 4 players teed off.
The full day golf tournament was followed by a celebratory buffet dinner, accompanied by a prize giving ceremony for the tournament winners.
