Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) has picked up the Environmental Protection award at the Seatrade Middle East Awards dinner held at the Atlantis The Palm in Dubai. This category was one of 24 presented on the night which included 60 companies competing for award recognition in maritime safety and the environment, ship and port operations and efficiency, security and financing.
The award was presented by Mr. Joseph Brincat, President of Middle East Region, ABS, to Captain Mohamed Juma Al-Shamsi, Vice President of Port Operations at ADPC.
ADPC Chief Executive Officer, Tony Douglas, commented on this occasion saying “we are very proud of this achievement and recognition. The environmental breakwater was built to protect the largest coral reef in the UAE which stands at 7 kms long. This is all part of our ongoing effort to do our part in protecting our environment.”
For 20 years Seatrade has presented awards championing high standards and quality in shipping issues. The scheme is designed to celebrate and reward excellence and innovation across the region over the previous 12 months.
