Meeting the Needs of Local Industry and the Community

Al Mirfa Port was the first port in Abu Dhabi to be dedicated to supporting the local fishing industry and community in the Emirate. Recent development has upgraded the port’s infrastructure, which includes a new breakwater, pontoons accommodating up to 140 fishing boats and leisure boats, as well as a 79-space dry boat-park with shaded car park.

Servicing the Local Community

The port features a dedicated fish market and a modern restaurant, visited by locals and tourists alike. There are two plots set aside for maintenance companies and spare-part vessel suppliers. Another plot within the port facility is available for leasing to small businesses; it is also the site of an ice making plant, which serves the needs of fishermen, the fish market, and the local community as a whole.

Strategic Location

Mirfa Port is well positioned to service oil and gas industries at Ruwais, as well as catering to the needs of the people who work in the area. The Al Gharbia Water Sports Festival is an important event in the calendar and it is always hosted at Mirfa.
