Peter James Marvin
Senior Vice President – Program Management
Peter James Marvin is Senior Vice President – Programme Management of Abu Dhabi Ports. He has more than 20 years of experience in delivering high value capital investment projects across the energy, maritime and industrial sectors.
He started his career in the Contracts department of Bechtel, where he held leading positions within the Asset Management Programme Phase 2 for the UK utility provider North West Water in the UK and the delivery of the $340m BOOT Sidi Krir 3&4 Power Stations in Egypt.
In 2005, he was part of the team that successfully delivered the $1.4bn Egyptian LNG project, which holds the world record for the fastest LNG plant delivery to date. He then moved to the UAE to serve as Bechtel’s Contract Manager on GASCO’s OGD III project.
In 2008, Marvin joined the Projects team at Abu Dhabi Ports and successfully delivered the AED 26.2bn Khalifa Port & KIZAD programme; on time and under budget on 1 September 2012.
He currently leads the in-house CAPEX team, which has successfully delivered key signature projects such as the Zayed Port Cruise Terminal, the Delma & Mirfa community ports in Al Gharbia, roads, infrastructure and warehousing in KIZAD and the initial phases of the Khalifa Port expansion.
Marvin is a bachelor of law from Lancaster University and a bachelor of Construction Management from Reading University. He is also a fully-qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply.
